Position Summary
Ember is hiring an Associate to join its investment team in New York, NY. The Associate will serve as an integral part of the team and contribute to all aspects of the investment process, including sector research, screening / initial evaluation, valuation, due diligence, portfolio management, and realizations. The Associate will take a lead in financial modeling and due diligence efforts and, as such, the position requires strong finance and analytical competencies, including seasoned financial modeling capabilities. We expect Associates to share in the team’s shared goal of bringing capital to sustainable real assets and businesses. In this position the candidate will:
Provide rigorous financial analysis
Develop and analyze investment themes around sustainable infrastructure investments
Prepare investment memoranda and related valuation materials
Assist with due diligence efforts and all aspects of transaction execution, including market and commercial research
Manage portfolio investments, including monitoring and reporting on operational and financial performance of businesses and projects
Requirements and Expectations
2-5 years of finance/investing experience in private equity, project finance, or investment banking in power/energy/industrials/infrastructure sectors
Strong quantitative modeling and financial accounting capabilities
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong track record of professional performance, with demonstration of sound judgement and maturity through deal experience
Independent, entrepreneurial thinker, who can research and form investment themes in new sectors and asset classes possessing sustainable attributes
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to develop and thrive in an analytical environment
