Water has been a core focus of Ember’s strategy since the firm's founding. Our conviction rests on the sector's fundamentals: the essential, irreplaceable nature of the resource; the aging, under-maintained state of the systems that deliver it; and the growing pressure to protect water from contamination and depletion, even while enabling economic growth and the new wave of industrial and AI-driven expansion.

These pressures demand a re-evaluation of how we manage water at scale, with a focus on efficiency, protection, and reuse – a shift we call The Water Transition, which is the focus of this report. We are proud to back companies building and delivering an array of treatment systems, distributed infrastructure, and operating capabilities that this moment demands.
