July 1, 2021 — ReGenerate Energy Holdings LLC, the recently formed joint venture between Ember Infrastructure and ReEnergy Biomass Operations LLC, has completed the acquisition of Albany Green Energy, a biomass heat-and-power facility located in Albany, Georgia, from a subsidiary of Exelon Generation Company LLC. The facility uses woody biomass from mill residue, forestry waste, recycling and agricultural waste to provide 50 MW of electricity to Georgia Power, process steam to the nearby Procter & Gamble paper products facility, and process steam that is used to generate electricity for the nearby U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Base.

June 28, 2021 – Ember Infrastructure today announced that Alex Smyk and Barrett Veazey have joined the firm’s investment team as Vice Presidents, with both coming from most recently from Global Infrastructure Partners. Alex and Barrett will be responsible for investment opportunity sourcing, evaluation and execution, in addition to portfolio company monitoring.
June 17, 2021—Ember Infrastructure has signed an agreement to invest $35 million in Caban Systems, Inc, a leader in the design and manufacture of next-generation, software-enabled energy storage and management systems for the telecommunications industry. Ember and Caban further agreed to form a new Energy-as-a-Service (“EaaS”) company that will finance and own incremental EaaS projects under long-term agreements with Caban’s customers.
April 29, 2021—Ember Infrastructure and ReEnergy Biomass Operations today announced an agreement to create an industry-leading bioenergy platform—ReGenerate Energy. The platform will be led by experienced team members from ReEnergy and Ember. ReGenerate Energy will acquire an ownership interest in ReEnergy’s two biomass power plants in Maine and will look to expand the platform across North America. ReGenerate Energy's bioenergy facilities transform locally and sustainably sourced wood waste residues and woody biomass into reliable, renewable baseload energy.
